A little bit of glamour & a whole lot of girl: Just Cavalli at Milan Fashion Week

As a blonde English rose, nude and oatmeal are two shades that draw my eyes (& purse) like a moth to a flame. Pair them with lace or faux fur, and I can pretty much bankrupt myself with a swipe of my debit card.

So when I flicked through the photos from the Just Cavalli A/W 2011 show from Milan Fashion Week, I was delighted.

The angelic faux fur capes, grey lace, oatmeal feathered coats and chiffon patterned dresses made me long for summer.

The collection gave a significant nod to the ’70s trend, with flared denim and oversized feathered coats, and a subdued wink to colour blocking, with small splatters of neon for those who aren’t feeling quite up to the supersized trend.

The show balanced two of the main themes that we’ve seen at Milan Fashion Week A/W 2011, which few designers have combined – slick glamour and quirky innocence.

The soft fabrics, light shades and little girl patterns contrasted with thick, feline flicks of black eyeliner and tight ponytails, creating a little dash of glamour and a whole lot of girl; just the way I like it.

Perfect.
